Multidrive Forward Control

Combining the technical assets of the proven Multidrive workhorse with the latest Kelland forward control cab from the versatile Agribuggy, a new forward control tractor is currently under development and will be available in the autumn of 2012.

The FC is based on a standard Multidrive 3.8m chassis unit with the latest cab from Kellands. A longer load space reduces the spraypack transport height & centre of gravity and allows more room for higher capacity sprayers of up to 6,000 litres to be carried. At the same time weight balance gets very close to the perfect 50/50 and the overall ground pressure is reduced.

Future Developments for 2010

Updated Sixtrac

Development work is due to start soon on a high output 6x6 for spraying, spreading, litter spreading and hauling with hook lift bodies. A new chassis, air suspension, 11 speed transmission and a 275hp engine will make the SixTrac 6275 an enviable high capacity machine.

Why 6 wheels? - The additional wheels spread the load better than simply fitting wider tyres and It can still carry the weight on relatively narrow tyres which is more convenient for row crop work and road transport.

Multidrive 4000 litre sprayer

A new demountable sprayer unit has been designed and manufactured in house for the Multidrive tractor unit. The prototype has been built with a 4,000 litre tank but the design easily lends itself to capacities from 3 to 5,000 lites. Likewise the boom on the standard unit is a lightweight aluminium 24m unit but the modular construction allows for the fitting of a heavy duty 36m .

Armoured Tractor for US Army

To add to the line up of special projects Multidrive have developed another variant of the armoured tractor for mine clearing for the US Army and the Halo trust. Two machines manufactured this year will be fitted with ground penetrating radar systems and will be working in Angola and Afghanistan.

The modular construction of the Multidrive allows us to change configurations such as cab and axle positions to suit different applications. The cab in this instance was moved back along the chassis to improve weight distribution and was also converted to a two man unit.
